Eurasia Group is seeking a highly qualified and experienced business and thought leader, with deep subject matter expertise and great client management skills, to serve as its next Retail and Consumer Practice Head.  The Retail and Consumer team is responsible for research and analysis on policy issues relevant to the firm’s retail, consumer, and brand clients, as well as for the maintenance and growth of client portfolios.  The Practice Head is responsible for advancing a dual mandate of driving cutting-edge thinking and thought leadership while also growing a business and managing a team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a client-relevant research agenda
  • Delivering compelling briefings and crisp insights to clients, both within the retail sector and across the broader range of Eurasia Group clients
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring that research needs are met, and positioning Eurasia Group as a trusted advisor
  • Identifying growth opportunities and leading scoping and commercial conversations with prospective clients
  • Supporting key public-facing and thought leadership initiatives across the firm, including in partnership with our President Ian Bremmer and our sister company GZERO Media
  • Managing the Retail and Consumer team, ensuring that team members are efficiently deployed to deliver on client needs, and coaching and developing team members

Ideal candidates with have:

  • At least 15 years of senior-level experience working at the intersection of public policy and business, ideally with a global retail or consumer products company
  • Deep understanding of relevant policy trends and issue areas such as trade policy, sourcing issues ESG related risks, and branding risks
  • Experience in corporate affairs or public affairs functions a plus
  • A track record of commercial success owning, maintaining, and growing client relationships over time
  • Strong written and oral communication skills that synthesize various aspects of geopolitics and business implications in a compelling style
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial, and turf-free mentality that focuses on superior client outcomes and growth
  • Strong team leadership and development skills
