Position Overview:
Eurasia Group is seeking an experienced and distinguished political analyst to serve as Deputy Head of Research. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of producing top-level political analysis, and the ability to extrapolate political conclusions to market outcomes. A demonstrated ability to conduct scenario analysis is required. The position also requires someone who reads widely on political topics, and who is able to synthesize new thinking. The successful candidate will manage a small team focused on geopolitics, and must have management experience. This role can be based in our New York, Washington DC, or London office with a preference for Washington DC.

More specifically, in this role, you will:

  • Operate at high functional levels and perform in-depth research under tight deadlines, writing both short analyses and longer papers.
  • Interface with senior executive clients
  • Collaborate with our business development teams on outreach to prospective clients. 
  • Understand, manage and coordinate complex research projects.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality research products and coordinate the activities of analysts and associates with regard to both research and business development.


  • 7+ years of experience working in the field of international affairs, with experience in markets is highly desirable
  • At least two years of private sector experience
  • Demonstrated ability in innovative and creative thinking
  • Excellent writing and analytic skills
  • At least two years of management experience.
  • Experience in Iran, sanctions, or other areas of specialty is desirable
  • Public Speaking and Leadership skills are desirable
