Position overview:

Eurasia Group is seeking to hire a Researcher/Associate to support our United States research team, which leads Eurasia Group’s coverage of US politics, policy, and elections for investor and corporate clients. This position will focus on data-driven analysis of elections, political developments, and public opinion to provide quantitative support to our broader research work. This position will work closely with our design team to provide compelling visualizations which illustrate trends in polling, demographic, and economic data. This position will also be tasked with developing and maintaining long-term analytical products to track specific policy developments, electoral performance, and public opinion, including sourcing and evaluating relevant data and background information for each. Finally, this position will be responsible for drafting and assisting in the editing of client-facing materials produced by our US practice. This position will ideally be based in Washington, DC but working out of the NYC office or remotely is a possibility.



  • Desirable candidates will have academic and professional research experience in data analytics and/or public polling and 2-5 years of work experience in data analytics or an advanced degree in political analysis or a policy-adjacent field.
  • Successful candidates will have direct experience analyzing key trends in opinion polling, demographic surveys, and voter turnout in a political context, including campaigns, consulting, or public relations.
  • Our interest is in trends that help inform predictions, so an understanding of major US political themes and developments is key; this position will focus on evaluating US politics through a data-focused lens and understanding the underlying political themes and related political science research is critical.
  • Experience analyzing varied datasets for relevance and reliability is crucial as this position will be tasked with finding and compiling data from a variety of sources and will need to be able to judge the quality and relevance of sources.
  • Experience turning data into compelling and illustrative work is desirable, this position will work with our design team, and the ability to leverage and compliment their full capabilities is a significant plus.
  • Candidates who demonstrate promising writing skills and a good mind for political research and analysis will have advancement.
  • Lastly, this position requires a significant degree of time management, with the ability to balance the needs of multiple concurrent projects.
